...from the Heart!

...from the heart!

This card has alot going on...embossing, sanding, sponging, piercing, swirls, scallops and a heart shaped brad for good measure! Created by Hand's challenge was to use red/pink colors, then I saw Courtney's color challenge on Created by Courtney which was a little more specfic; real red, pink passion & choc chip. Ooo, goody, that's easy, I'll just combine those challenges! Well, this one boggled my brain...pink passion is really bright, no wonder I still have a whole pack of it in my cs pile! But we must press on, mustn't we! So here it is, tah dah! The Cuttlebug challenge was to distress your embossing. The Cuttlebug Spot challenge was to create a card for someone special. Aww! I really liked the look of the embossing after sanding, I will do that again. It easily took the color from sponging also! So I'm pretty happy with this one, just don't look in my trash bin! Have a lovely weekend! Blessings!

I've been framed!

Look what my lovely hubby made for me!
He's sooo awesome!
This is my new wipe-off calendar! Dry-erase markers wipe right off glass so all I have to do now is change the "view" every month, what do ya think? I left the wood natural because I'm not sure in which room it will hang! (I'm sure altering a frame will be a challenge sooner or later!) Two challenges asked us to "frame" our projects, PennyBlack and the Lots To Do challenge. Arty Girlz' challenge was to create a ATC (2.5"x3.5"), which you will see in the lower right corner!

This was fun, I'll let you know when I "dress" the frame. I don't want to go too wild, as my arm will be rubbing the frame whenever I write on the calendar....any suggestions???
Thank you all for stopping by, I appreciate all your lovely comments, you make me smile! Have an absolutely sparkly day! Blessings!

Peace onto you

And now for something totally different!
How's this for a Christmas card...not quite the traditional colors, huh?
Mada gave us a really wonderful sketch over @ Just Christmas & Birthday Cards. And I knew I wanted to use my SU! Peace onto You stamps. Well, the lion and the lamb fit nicely in a circle but they certainly didn't coordinate with any Christmasy green and red color scheme. Then I saw Ooh-La-La's black and gold challenge! So I decided to go for it! In the past, I have stamped this outline image in many colors to match the card, but I like it best when the lion has color. A great masculine Christmas card, don't ya think?
Blessings!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I must confess, I've been hording awards. I so appreciate each and every one of these lovely ladies thinking of me for these awards. I consider each a blogging friend and enjoy visiting their blogs and being inspired by all they create!!

Jennie has Candy!

Jennie has some sweet Valentine's Day candy! Most of you probably know her as The Artistic Stamper, her blog has many wonderful creations. So hop on over and check her out!

a little romance...

Ok this sketch puzzled me for awhile!

Gray is not a color I use often...but I thought this worked well with the red/black. The black strips are satin ribbon.

I'll be passing this card along to a friend; a Valentine for his wife!

This sketch is from the OCC girls! Blessings!

ETA: looking at it now, I think I'll add some gray pearls to the corner!

Father's Day Pheasant

Friday Sketcher had a wonderful sketch this week by Beatrix! Brown & blue are some of my fav colors to work with! This pheasant stamp & sentiment are from an old SU! set (Pheasant Thoughts, 2000) I found online for three dollars. The seller was local so I had a chance to look through her stash and pick up some other lovely sets!

I thought since I'm so on top on things with my Christmas cards (haha) that I would start on the other holidays too!

We have a fun day planned today! A homeschool art class! Our lovely neighbor is teaching us how to make some really cool stuff with polymer clay, we have our pasta machine and tools ready to go. We've worked with it before but only to make little animals and kiddie things. I'm hoping to make some things I can add to my cards and such. (yea, I'm learning too!) So, we will be trudging through the snow for art today! Homeschooling is so cool! Hope you all have a fun day today too! Blessings!

Dorothy in OZ

I finally made an Anya card! The Greeting Farm has digital stamps...how cool is that, unless you're out of ink! eek!
Cinema Saturday Creative challenge movie this week was Wizard of Oz! Hence, the Dorothy Anya! Toto has colored modeling paste fur for texture! I guess I should have made her shoes red, but apparently this was when she first arrived in OZ! hehe
Church is cancelled for tonight because of the ice, I guess I'll get a little more stamping in! Blessings!

A Sweet Sketch!

Well, I found another sketch challenge! Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge over @ the sweetest thing! Karen had this lovely sketch and I just had to play along! (thanks Karen!)
This is a pretty straight forward "Stampin' Up" style card. The sentiment is from Little Yellow Bicycle and the butterfly a Martha Stewart punch! I punched a brown butterfly then the red for a silhouette! The scallop is made using the SU! slit punch!
Well, we have snow today, yea! But now it's sleeting! I would love to just have some fluffy snow! There are so many accidents on the news...just awful! Stay warm, stay safe! Blessings!

Planting Seeds!

Good morning!
Wow, I stayed up way to late last night and just can't seem to get moving this morning! I had a list of things to do yesterday and we had errands to run...so that set me back a little then a sweet neighbor called and invited me over for conversation and a piece of pecan pie....um, Ok....so when I came home I picked up where I left off (the list) thinking I had time to do it all! Ha! Now I'm draggin' and the list is gonna' have to adapt today!
I made this card over the weekend for the Roses on Paper challenge. Anki has this lovely sketch with mulitple layers and charms! These are Martha Stewart papers. (love it when the whole pack of papers coordinate!) The sentiment tag, "Faith" was a $store find and I used little floss knots in the tag holes. The ABC challenge was X~use an X on your project. I used the "lattice" DP but then I see I covered pretty much of it. One Stop Craft Challenge was to use charms this week. I used my own theme of "planting seeds" ...using faith in ministering to others, planting, watering and waiting for the harvest! Not always easy! But I have experienced God's faithfulness time & time again! And thank God, he never changes!!!! I pray you all have a beautiful day, with a heart full of peace! Blessings!

Quick Elegance

I call this little piece, Quick Elegance!

Black card, white paper, satin ribbon, black glitter brads with black embossed design and sentiment and it's ready to attend a wedding! What do ya think?

I was inspired by Courtney's lovely sketch @ Created by Courtney. She'll have a new sketch posted tomorrow (Tue). Enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit! Blessings to you!

Third Christmas Card Done!

Well, here's number three in my Christmas card stash...though rather late, the new sketch @ Just Christmas & Birthday Cards is already posted. I missed the challenge but my card's done! I used acetate to stamp out the golden crown. It was alittle too intricate to think about cutting out. Arty Girlz has a challenge to use a transparency on your creation.
We had a dusting of snow last night, yeah! They are forcasting snow showers over the next few days, but it always seems to miss us and we just have sleet/freezing rain instead! Lots of running around with errands today then the rest of the week looks pretty easy...ideal for a snow!!!! I hope you all have a cozy day! I have more posts scheduled and I will be visiting you all tonight! Blessings!

Welcome Baby Boy

Welcome baby boy...here's my traditional colored baby card I promised you! Simplicity at it's best!
The boat is a Cuttlekids die and the scallops Martha Stewart! I used Lauren's sketch from Cupcake Craft Challenge for inspiration and A Spoonful of Sugar's theme~baby/new mum! This congratulatory card is actually for the grandma...first sweet little grandbaby! Makes you smile doesn't it, a "fresh" little one!
Hope your having a peaceful relaxing weekend! Blessings!

Spring time butterfly

Well, we had spring-like weather yesterday so I made a springy card! Today we are entering back into the deep freeze!
This is the first time I had to ink up my new Crafty Individuals stamp I won sometime ago! I used Dutch Dare's challenge idea for the mosaic and the sketch from Sketch & Stash! The butterfly is layered on vellum with silver embossed script. The sentiment "bloom" is reversed embossed with white and metallic silver. I used the last of my silver shimmery ribbon...eek! I must seriously replenish my ribbon supply!!! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! Today, my DH is delivering a beautiful pencil post bed frame he made this past week...I'll try to post a picture later. He made it from walnut wood and it's gorgeous! IMO!
Blessings!!

You make me Smile!

Sorry for the dark pix.

I wanted to participate in the Pennyblack challenge before tomorrow and I was running out of time! Using dots was there challenge and the sketch is from Sketch Saturday! Isn't this little guy cute? Made me smile, hence the sentiment! The popped flower & stem are embossed and shiny, you can almost see that in the picture! I used pastels to shade the bg of the image but I think I need to start going darker and not be afraid of color! I'm learning and I'm learning from all of you!!!! Thank you to all who visit here, I reply to every comment and in doing so I'm able to visit so many wonderful blogs. (though I'm always playing catch up on the commenting...I do get to everyone!!!)

Off to play outside...blessings!

With Love & Bling!

A very pink girly, lacey, sparkly Valentine!
The quintessential girly card! We have pearls, the blingy butterfly, the fabric lace, the MS punched scalloped edge, the pink tulle, the sparkly K&co "love" paper and some pink gems. How'd I do?
With a house where the boys out number the girls 2 to 1, I need this every once in a while! ha
The sketch is from Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch, sweet site full of inspiration!
With Valentine's Day right around the corner, there were more than a few challenge themes concerning love, hearts and Val. Day! Checkout these challenges...Lili of the Valley~valentine, Daring Cardmakers~valentine, Daily Art Stop~love, Wednesday Stamper~lace, Created by Hand~hearts, Secret Crafter~hearts and the Loonie Stamper's challenge(love that name!)~bling! Welcome Little One

Welcome little one!
Here's another way to use this Easter House Mouse image. I didn't color the image as to not highlight the patterned egg. This week HM gave us a color challenge; navy, cameo coral & old olive. I was a bit intimidated at first but I think this came together nicely! Not the traditional baby colors, huh? I'll be posting another baby card that is very traditional later today or tomorrow. The sketch is from Friday Sketcher's Murielle, isn't it fantastic! Blessings!

Back in Black!

Here's my favorite turtle from Whimsy Stamps. This was one of the first stamps I bought when these stamps went on the market and now they have quite the selections of whimsy animals! Denise had this fun sketch on her site as a guest design team call until Jan 26! I found these papers in the bargain bin at Michaels. All the black ink is embossed and I used prisma markers and pencils to color and blend, pastels for the water and sky. Don't ya just love the look on this little guy's face!? There's also a Whimsy Challenge on the PCP, to use black on your project.
Thank you all for your well wishes for my son's birthday...he had a great day...and with homeschooling, he had a day "off"!
Hope you are all having a sparkly day!
Blessings!!!

A Fairy Tale Love Story

Love is in the air...everywhere!
These are some of the downloads I won from Crafty Muse , aren't they so cool! (thanks, Sammi!) They have challenges every other week!
I had fun coloring and cutting! There's alot of sparkle going on here; wings, shoes, tree flowers and some shimmery ribbon too!
The sketch came from a pretty magical place...Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday challenge!! I was also inspired by the themes at Theme Thursday~couples and Charisma Cardz~fantasy. Another delightful challenge is Share Your Spark friday's challenge which was to "cut-out" something on your project! What fun!!!! If these blogs are new to you, I hope you'll check them out...there is something for everyone in Blogland! And I have met such lovely people along the way! Squishy hugs to you all! Blessings!

Fishy, fishy in the...

...freezer!

Ok, I should warn you right here, I was in a silly mood when creating this card! We were abundantly blessed with fish for our freezer. I'm a huge seafood lover and wanted to send a thank you card! I think I started out serious, then I started thinking of funny fish scenes and the silliness took over. It didn't help that my wonderful offspring were cracking silly fish jokes. So I could say this was a family project, not my best creation but awfully fun! And I know it will be received with the same attitude!

I used the Lili of the Valley sketch for placement inspiration and the gals over @ CCEE gave us a theme of fish/fishlips for their featured stamper, checkout the site for all the details on that one!

Today, my 15 yo DS who helps with my cards sometimes, turns 16! I still can't believe I have 3 teenagers (17,16,& 13) in my home with my youngest becoming a pre-teen in a few months! How did this happen??? Blessed, I guess! Hope your day is a lovely one full of fun! Blessings!

If you've made a card for someone this week, RAK, checkout Karen's challenge over @ Lilac & Lupines!

A Lucky Bunny Birthday!

No, it's not Lucky Bunny's birthday, but she will be helping someone celebrate their happy day! I found this fun sketch over @ Sketches! {by Tamara} last Thursday and wanted to do this fun technique...not sure what it's called! The DP is from the Glitter pack DCWV so you'll have to imagine that, the balloon is glittered too! Stamp Something wanted to see birthday cards this week and I always need b'day cards so that worked out well. They seem to go out as fast as I make them! Lastly, the Papertake Weekly gang challenged us to Shape Up, use three different shapes on your project!
Off to watch the swearing in of our new President! Blessings!

And the Dress Up wallet card & Images go to...

Thank you to all who played along!
Had to use a hat, and my dear daughter picked
Debra of A Crafters Dream!
Congratulations Debra, I hope you have fun with these cute images. Email me your addy and I post it to you! My email is on my profile page!

I love to give fun away, so stay tuned!
Blessings!

Birthday Dreams!

Here's another House Mouse image, I just really enjoy them! The ladies @Dutch Dare gave us these colors; green, blue and brown, for this week challenge and Mercy had this wonderful sketch on Lord Have Mercy! The dream cloud is sitting on three layers for dimension and I used my Koh-l-noor pencils for coloring! (thanks Elena!) (See Debbie, I'm a pencil girl!) Since this is a masculine card, I tied the tiniest of bows and limited my embellies to just three little dots at the bottom righthand corner. However, I'm breaking the rule, "No Glitter for Men," I looked at my DH birthday cards recently (store bought) and they have glitter, so I ever so slightly shaded the cake with dazzling diamonds, after all a birthday is a celebration and celebrations call for sparkle! Hmpt! I hope you had a lovely weekend, our deep freeze is over and we're back to winter temps in the 20's! Have a Sparkly day! Blessings!

A Simple Thank You!

A nice simple thank you! I used the reverse masking technique and pastels for this effect. I really like how it turned out and will probably make a pack of these cards for a gift! This is a smaller size card too, don't ask, I didn't measure. The narrow ribbon adds to the delicate look, don't ya think?! Gotta love the House Mouse images!
This is my 2nd attempt at this technique, I'll post my first try later, maybe! Have a mice & easy day! Blessings!

Jesus, my Inspiration!

Courtney of Created by Courtney had a really fun challenge (thanks Courtney)~to be inspired by the CD/music we were listening to. I wasn't listening to any music at the time so I chose the CD that was currently "waiting" in the player to be played again! One of our worship leaders at church recorded an awesome CD, it's so anointed! (Available at Amazon.com)
I was first inspired by the colors and the staircase/the path. I used digi paper from Shabby Princess and mimicked a path with the glass bead elements. CG'd the text, distressed edges, added bling and mounted it on matching cs. Simple, if you know how to work with photoshop!?? Since Jesus is easily my inspiration for everything, I thought this was appropriate for the card and the challenge. And I have just the person in mind to receive it. We'll call this an encouragement card!

Today is a great football day...playoffs for the Superbowl, no stamping this afternoon! Blessings!

Warm & Cozy with Riley!

I hope everyone in this week's deep freeze is staying warm and cozy...this card is dedicated to you! As for all of you with the A/C on this week, warm & cozy can refer to the tea & chair Riley is enjoying! How's that?!

The sketch is from Papertake Weekly and the theme cozy came from the Crazy Amigo challenge blog! Riley is, of course, from Hanna Stamps! And the fireplace from my stash of images! I was a stamping machine today and I tried a few simple techniques~new to me, so I'll space those out over the next few days. Hopefully the simplicity will inspire you to try them too!

Praying you have a warm and cozy feeling in your heart, knowing you're loved and cared for....Blessings!

A Valentine Tin

I humbly show you my first altered tin! I thought pregnancy stretched you....well, it's stretching time again!!!! No! I'm not pregnant! I'm stepping out of my box, actually I can't even see my box right now!
So, this is my first tin, my daughter helped cover it in newspaper and put a wash over it. IRL you can see more of the news print! We used pink tissue paper, acrylic paint (ivory, brown, gold), I did use a stamp for the words of love....God's love! Now these three remain, faith, hope and love...but the greatest of these is love. First Corinthians 13:13
She didn't know it while helping me, but this will be my teenage daughter's Valentine. It will be presented to her as a "place to keep her heart" until the Lord shows her who to give it to for marriage! I'll include a small journal, little notes of scripture and some family pictures and I'm sure she will keep her little treasures in it too!
The picture was a download from The Vintage Moth. Abbie freely shares beautiful pictures she finds. It's a lovely place to visit with a cup of coffee and browse all her delightful pictures! Well, you might wonder what lured me from my comfortable cardmaking box...it's this wonderful challenge blog called Object D'Art! Jennie has some great ideas to inspire us!! I hope you'll check it out! This project hit on a few other challenges too...Lots To Do wanted us to use newspaper on our creations. Created by Hand wanted us to be inspired by the word LOVE and Secret Crafter's Claire challenged us to make anything but a card! The lovely ladies @ Ooh-La-La gave us the theme "Love is in the Air"/Valentine. Mission accomplished...now back to my box, I have cards to make! Blessings!
Checkout my little giveaway below...

Dress Up! Give Away

ABC challenged us to make a wallet card. How fun is that! Plenty! I decided to use this cute little girl stamp. I bought this set at a yardsale, they're blue rubber, that's all I can tell you about them. I never made a wallet before so I improvised and this is the result! Then I thought wouldn't it be fun to put some stamped images inside and give it away! But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you which challenges inspired the rest of the card. Cupcake Craft provided the sketch, and the Cuttlebug Challenge was to use our fav folder. I love all my CB folders but swiss dots seems to go with everything. I originally had the little girl stamped on a white oval and colored in (as shown in one of the photos), I forgot I wanted to cut & pop her. Redo! The swiss dots just add something, don't ya think? So, now to the give away part! If you would like to be the recipient of this wallet card (or maybe your daughter or grand daughter), just leave a comment on this post and let me know you want it! Remembering this is my first try and it's far from perfect! If there is actually more than one request, I'll put the names in a hat and let my daughter draw on Monday the 19th around noon, EST. How's that! Have a peaceful evening/day...Blessings!

Hope...

Hope...
to desire with expectation of obtainment; to expect with confidence; trust.
What a wonderful word...it's what the world needs now! Of course, then we could break into song with...love, sweet love it's the only thing that there's just too little of... (Is anyone else fimiliar with that song from the, eer, a while back!?)
Well then, let's look at a card today, shall we? These papers are K&co (sparkly), aren't they gorgeous? I really like the cyan/navy/olive combo! This lovley sketch was inspired by Dawn @ Inspirational Card Sketches, a new challenge blog! I love a challenge and she's looking for some designers too! Check it out!
Lots of cards going out today. Lots of prayers going out everyday. So many people need to know someone cares...they need to know there's hope! That alone inspires me to make more cards! Blessings to all who read here!

My 2nd Christmas Card Done!

Ok, Christmas card #2 finished, tah dah! Oo baby, I'm on my way...to Christmas 2009! Tanja has an awesome sketch over at Just Christmas & Birthday Cards challenge blog. When I saw it I had a "eck the halls"vision. The red "berries" are the top part of a large brad, like the kids would use for craft projects. I pushed them into my Versamark pad and dipped them in red EP. My hubby worked the heat gun so I wouldn't burn my little fingers...he is so fabulous, thanks honey! I attached the brad caps with foam dots, it was a perfect fit!

We apparently are still celebrating Christmas in our house, our one tree is still standing! No one wants to take it down. Maybe I'll just push it out of the way a little and leave it up...then I'll really be ahead for next Christmas! hehe Hope you had a lovely day! Blessings!

The Sugarbowl #1

I finally did my card for the new Sugarbowl challenge...still not quite happy with it. It needs something, tried different ribbons and flowers but they all over-shadowed this super sweet image. I have been practicing my coloring and learning so much from all of you! Thank you! Yet another wonderful reason to blog and meet new friends from all over the world! I used pastels for the sky/clouds and around the grass and scraps of cs for this colorful effect! I'll put a sentiment on when I decide what occasion and who will be the recipient!
This was a lovely sketch, thanks Tiets! So there we are for round one of the Sugarbowl challenge!
Blessings to all who read here!

A Classic!

Here's a clean cut card! This could stand in for a birthday, get well or encouragement. As part of my new year "thinking", I am stockpiling all occasion cards. 2009~be prepared, after all we cardmakers do have a life and we can't be stamping all the time! (you're supposed to jump in here with a, "Yes, we can! or is that from Bob the Builder??) How are you doing with your new year resolutions...still at it? Our house is clean, my laundry is not overflowing, there are only a few dirty dishes in the sink and our homeschool is over halfway finished for this school season...I'm happy! So I made this card using Nikki's sketch from A Spoonful of Sugar.

I used SU! Eastern Blooms, it seemed that I couldn't live without it when it first came out and now I had to dig it out. So my next few cards will probably use the same set. And I just rec'd my H&M stamps in the mail today from their garage sale I told you about the other day. yeah! Gotta love a bargain! Well, I have a turkey breast cooking on top of the woodstove and it's smelling really good, off to feed the gang! Thanks for stopping by today and thanks for all your lovely comments...they really brighten these dreary winter days (without snow!!!!!!) Blessings to each and every one of you!

A Pink Bag!

Ok, so my mojo is stuck on simple! But I made it with my own little hands from my warm little heart! I enjoy making these sweet bags...for a easy peasy tutorial check out my first bag creation.

My inspiration, the talented ladies of the Arty Girlz challenge~anything-but-a-card. And there's a new challenge blog worth getting excited about; Charisma Cardz challenge! They gave us a theme of pink! More ultra-cool challenges...Crafty Muse~something new (like a fresh little baby!), One Stop Craft challenge~take a punch!...anxious to see everyone's interpretation of that one!
These bags are nice to have on hand in pink & blue so when you need a quick gift you can just slip a giftcard inside! Or you can make a few and use them for a party favor at the baby shower! Thanks for stoppin' by! May love flow to you and overflow from you as you bless those around you today!
