...not a creature was stirring...

Here's a fun card to start off the new week! I had a fabulous holiday and relaxing weekend, so I'm back to routine today! Lots going on this week for crafters & bloggers alike so stay tuned to this space!
Today is the last Squigglefly Challenge for this year...Squigglefly is a wonderful company that values family, so they are taking it a bit easy on everyone for the holidays! Oh, but that doesn't mean the company is taking a break on releasing new images! There will be new releases EVERY WEEK in December...how cool is that!

I had a bit of fun with this Squigglefly image from the newest release! It's call Just A Bit Longer. He's colored with pastels and the coloringbook candy cane is colored with a prisma pencil! The cardstocks are non SU scraps and the sentiment is CG!

I guess this would be filed under Non-Traditional Christmas cards! lol But it's fun to think outside the box!

Have a super duper day!!! May you be overtaken with joy today and Blessed beyond measure!!!

Happy Saturday everyone!! Are you ready for the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential challenge, we had fun with this one....Hats On! Simply make a creation with HATS or put a hat on something!

The striped DP is embossed with glitter, I used SU! dazzling diamonds on the sombrero, glitter on the red lights and this amazingly sparkly Inspiration Paint (winter frost) on the snowman! Oh and there is a touch of Pearl Ex gold on the star! Can you say SPARKLY?! lol

Checkout the fabulous inspiration from my sister Divas..

My Prayer to you...

zwani.com myspace graphic comments

I pray peace, joy and much love over all who read here!
Blessings from my family to yours!!

The Holidays are upon us...

Happy Wednesday! Well, as of tomorrow, the holidays are officially upon us, what fun! Are you ready...I'm not! lol

Today I have my last Squigglefly card as a design team member, our term ends tomorrow!! boohoo, I have adored this brilliant team of ladies and am happy to have made so many wonderful friends along the way! {squishy hugs} to all my DT sistahs!!!

I love the new Shy Bear images, artist Lynne Stansbery does an excellent job with these little fellows which makes coloring oh so easy!!!! I used Copics & SU! markers for coloring. I sponged a bit of SU! old olive ink in the shady places of the packages and to 'dim' the saffron yellow. The DP is K&co (Christmas Cheers) with gold embossing...gorgeous! I've also added gold gel pen highlights on the image here and there and the image panel is mounted on gold cs (Metallics-Paper Adventures). Another CAS card because I didn't want to cover up anymore of the DP!

My posts will be sporadic over the next few days with Thanksgiving and the weekend...so I would like to wish you all a BLESSED THANKSGIVING for those in the U.S and a happy, relaxing weekend to everyone else! Enjoy your day! Blessings!!

Digital Tuesday Challenge-Thank You!

Welcome to a Digital Tuesday Challenge day! Lovely Lora is our hostess this week and she has challenged us to make a THANK YOU card! easy peasy, huh? Our sponsor this week is Creations by Penny, she was so kind as to allow the DT to have a play with some wonderful images! I choose this adorable bear with sign, isn't he adorable, and think of the possibilities for that sign! Gosh, you could even put a ribbon around it for a gift!

I choose to paper piece this big fellow for a fun look! I was totally inspired by Rose (My Happy Place), she has been piecing her images over the last few day and it was so fun to see! Thank you Rose!!!!

I used SU! cs in handsome hunter and choc chip. The tree stamp is, of course, SU! lovely as a tree and the sentiment, SU! warmest regards! The sprigs of grass are from a Hanna Stamps set (springtime)! I didn't think I was going to get this card done in time so it is a very simple design! I think it works for a nice masculine thank you card!

Here are the challenges...

Thankful for Friends of Faith Blog Hop!

Welcome to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine's A Faith Perspective Thankful for Friends of Faith Blog Hop. Today, we're out in force on the internet -- showing our faith and giving the glory to God. United, we stand as Christian paper crafters and blog owners to make a presence on the internet for all to see. We're celebrating the theme of friends and we're happy to share our projects based on the verse:

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. " Ecc 4:9-10a

If you're just joining in on the fun, you can find the start of the train HERE . First, we would like to take a moment to thank our generous co-sponsors: Layers of Colors Stamps, Gina K Designs Stamps and Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. Together with Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, these companies have donated some wonderful prizes for today’s blog hop.

Prizes? Oh, yeah! There will be three lucky grand prize winners for today’s event.

To enter, simply hop to the blogs of all of the participating staff members of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, take note of the staff member’s name, and leave a comment on their posts. Then send us an email at

games@scrapbooknewsandreview.com listing each of the staff members who participated in today’s hop. It’s that easy. All entries must be received by Monday, November 16, 2009 at 12 noon, EST and three winners will be randomly chosen to win.

What are the prizes?

One $100 gift certificate from Layers of Colors Stamps AND a 6 month subscription to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine.

One basket of goodies -- four stamp sets from Gina K Designs and a 6 month subscription to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine.

One set of digital stamps from Sweet ‘n ‘Sassy Stamps and a 3 month subscription to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine.

In addition, every participating staff member of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine will offer a free one-month subscription to the magazine to one of their lucky visitors by simply for leaving a comment on their blog. That's a lot of chances to win, so let’s get to the Hop!

I love to use scripture on my cards, it's a wonderful way to encourage others! I went through my favorites over at SCS and found this card, in it's pretty blues and greens. I changed the scripture, the dp, ribbon, button and stamped image behind the wording. The card also had machine stitching, which I did not add, but I did pierce! lol I hope you're enjoying the hopping....

You should have arrived here from Shauna's blog! Thank you for taking the time to comment!
The next stop on this blog hop is:
Diane Davies.

I was honored when Anne contacted me to be part of this wonderful opportunity to gather with other Christian crafters and glorify the Lord in this fun way!! Thank you Anne!

Praying peace, joy and much love over each and every one of you!!! Be Blessed!!!

A Sliding Card for the Kids

Happy Tuesday! It's Digital Tuesday Challenge day and Anjou is hostessing this week with a wonderful theme of Holiday Wishes! I made a fun little card for a child; the elf runs across the card!

I used a newer Squigglefly image called On the Run, drawn by artist Cheryl Alger! Isn't it wonderful?! So I figured if he's on the run....he should be able to 'run'!

I simply made two slits behind the top panel, slide the ribbon through, attached the top panel to the ribbon with foam dots and layered the whole card front onto a white cardstock base careful not to type in the middle where the ribbon ran! The child can then pull the ribbon back and forward watching the elf run! Sweet, huh?
The DP is K&co, and the coloring is Copics, there's a bit of glitter added for fun! This will be a fun little reminder for a child to make their list....though what child really needs reminded!!! lol

I hope you'll be able to play along with us this week at Digital Tuesday! We love to see all the different 'takes' on the themes!!!

I was inspirated by a few challenges but honestly the card took on a mind of it's own once the elf had the need to run...

The sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe-all occasion circle words-and I colored gold around it to appear as a second layer! I didn't have the right colored brads so I made my faux brads with a hole punch and shimmered them with some more Smooch!! Pretty clean & simple masculine birthday card!!
