You deserve a Cookie!

Happy Thursday!

Today, I'm sharing a thank you card, some cookies, my new summer dress & the Bloomin' GIVE-AWAY winners!

I enjoying baking, so I usually always have cookies in the house.   Mostly stashed away in a tin so they aren't gobbled-up as soon as they come out of the oven!   It's nice to have something to offer guests who pop in for a visit!   It also helps when you want to add a special little something to thank someone!

I made this thank you gift in 15 minutes!   Quite simple yet homemade!

I could say the colors were inspired by our recent heatwave...hot, Hot, HOT!  But really they were inspired by one of my new summer dresses!

I'm tall and like the longer lengths.    CAS style, that's me, I figure I can dress it up with heels or dress it down with sandals!   I bought one in perwinkle too!!!

ok, back to the thank you gift.

Instructions for this 15 minute gift set.
...the card

  • stamp thank you onto cardbase. (mine is from Paper Smooches)
  • punch three small flowers (I used SU! Boho flower punch)
  • insert brads into flowers
  • affix flowers to cardbase. (tip: I do it this way so the brad 'legs' are hidden!)
...the bag
  • insert thick cardboard into bag
  • place die on bag & run through a die cut machine OR
  • use Exacto knife to cut a hole in the bag
  • measure design paper for bag front
  • cut die 'frame' from dp
  • adhere acetate to the back of the dp
  • secure dp to bag front
  • use decorative scissors to cut top off bag OR fold over
  • punch holes in bag for ribbon
  • thread ribbon & tie!
That's it!

I made white Macadamia nut cookies.
(a Good Housekeeping recipe)

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 12 minutes

Total Time: 27 minutes

  • 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick), softened
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate baking chips
  • 1 cup chopped Macadamia nuts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
In large bowl, with mixer at medium speed,
  •  beat butter and brown and granulated sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in egg and vanilla until well combined.
  • Reduce speed to low; beat in flour mixture just until blended.
  • With wooden spoon, stir in white chocolate baking chips and Macadamia nuts.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoons, 2 inches apart, on two un-greased cookie sheets. Bake until golden around edges, 10 to 12 minutes, rotating cookie sheets between upper and lower oven racks halfway through baking. With wide spatula, transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
Yield: about 36 cookies

Now for the winners of my Bloomin' Give-away!

I used random.org.   It picked #6 and #1, so the winners are Katlyn & Lisa V.  I'll be contacting you both for your addresses soon! Congrats ladies!!!

I'll be listing another give -away next week.  I still have lots of unused crafty stash, and even some kid-friendly stash!  lol  I love cleaning out my house!

Enjoy your day!
