Homemade: Sweetened Cond. Milk!

Happy Tuesday!

Proud Momma here...I had to show off one of my (13 y.o.) son's pumpkin pies!   So yummy!

The first two he made were gobbled up in record time so he set out to make two more, but was disappointed to find he had used the last can of Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk!

So he made his own with this recipe...

Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk
recipe = 1 can.
   1 Cup  powdered milk
1/3 Cup  boiling water
2/3 Cup  granulated sugar
   3 Tablespoons butter
Blend all ingredients together until sugar dissolves.
(if too thick add a few drops of water-blend well)

It worked out well and the pies were enjoyed by all...again!

I've taught all my kids to cook & bake in hopes that one day they would completely take over my kitchen... lol, my plan seems to be working rather well!

Meet today's card...

Stamps: Doodle Pantry digis (pumpkin birdie set)
Paper:  Brazzill cs., Little Yellow Bicycle dp
Other: Offray ribbon, twine

Now why didn't I think of that when our kids were younger? Sigh.... What fun, Maria! I love that your kids are enjoying things like this with you, and OMG, what a great math lesson! The pie looks delish, and your card is beautiful - thanks for sharing!!!

I love the card too, it's beautiful. I am going to have to look up 'digi tutorials' because I don't know how to do that and really love the look, TFS.

Great idea to teach your son to cook - I taught mine and he's not half bad at taking over the kitchen :) Two of my grandson's are in the kitchen too - one a baker, the other a chef. If your son doesn't become a chef he might consider, after so successfully making his own recipe for the milk, going into chemical engineering - I think he could be quite useful at it. Your card is fab - great colours and image and I love the effect of putting twine with organza ribbon. Elizabeth x
