Hats off to you & a FREEbie

Just me again!   This is the 3rd & final post for today, promise!
April 7th just seems to be the day everyone chose to present something new!  It's a Spring-Thing!

The new challenges are up @ the CDAC (Crafters Digital Art Center) forum.  The color challenge is being sponsored by Doodle Pantry!

This hat & sentiment are provided for FREE!!!  If you're not a member of the forum yet, simply sign up for a free membership...they always have some freebies on offer!

Whenever you have images with large spaces and coloring the whole area seems intimidating to you, paper piecing is a great option!   There are so many wonderful designer papers ready to work for you.  Can't you just see this hat with a delicate polka dot paper?

I've used MME (My Mind's Eye) paper that actually looked a bit like straw for my hat.  The leaves & flowers (the prima flower too) are colored with Copic markers.

On the homefront....as you know we're in spring cleaning mode and I've decided to finally tackle our balcony.  ugh!
We have a Great Room with a balcony overlooking it from our master bedroom.   Well, the balcony has become somewhat of a collection ground, KWIM???

So hubby whipped up a huge bookshelf for me, nice and deep for baskets!   Now, to dig my way through the piles!   I'm excited to finally 're-purpose' the space!  Stay tuned!

Hope you're having a great day!

Stunning card Maria, I love that image, so elegant. And your husband what? Just "whipped" up that fantastic bookcase! Wow! What a clever hubby you have. My o/h half has trouble whipping up an egg hehe, thats cruel, he has many talents as long as they are electrical, not too good with the old wood though. Enjoy your day. Donna x

Your card is gorgeous, Maria. Love the textured paper you used for the piecing. The colors are fabulous. I love blue, yellow and white. Again, that so much for sharing the cookie recipe.
